The plant in Melk belongs to our Austrian subsidiary, Quarzwerke Austria GmbH.


The silica sands in this region were formed in the Oligocene, and are carefully selected for extraction and processing. The high proportion of trace minerals makes a series of extremely intensive processing steps necessary.
